Dear Lance,
Welcome to the December issue of the D-
Letter. I wish each and every one of you the very best
for your holiday season - Chanukah, Christmas, and/or Zwanza - and a
happy new year!
In this issue I want to invite you to share your own Facts for
Thought, remind you of the upcoming Winter Webinar Series, share
with you some recent articles, and continue to define for you what I
do as a 'Chief Solution Architect'.
Thank you for joining me. As always, I welcome your comments and
feedback. Don't hold back.
My best, Lance

| Coming Soon! Winter Webinar Series |
 |
|
Your response to the Fall 'Let's Get Serious' webinar
series was fantastic. Over 300 of you registered for the
Series, and actual attendance was well above the 'industry
average.'
So, starting in January I will continue to get serious
about learning in today's world with you ... to separate out
fact from fiction, truth from myth, cutting edge from bleeding
edge, hype and hyberbole from what's real.
We will
look in greater depth at informal learning and other new
learning approaches; blogs, wikis, podcasting, VODs and other
new learning technologies; and, learning architectures for
your organization which leverage formal and informal learning,
and both the 'old' and the 'new'.
You and your colleagues are invited to join me in these
highly interactive and informative webinars. In the January
D-Letter I will share with you the schedule. Remember, they
are: an hour in length; recorded for your future reference;
and FREE!
I look forward to 'seeing' you online after
the new year.

| Chief Solution Architect: Hard Work, Action and
Questions |
 |
|
Here are some quotes from the world-renowned management
guru, Peter Drucker, which seem most appropriate to me in
defining the work of a 'chief solution architect':
"Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately
degenerate into hard work."
"We now accept the fact
that learning is a lifelong process of keeping abreast of
change. And the most pressing task is to teach people how to
learn."
"You can either take action, or you can hang
back and hope for a miracle. Miracles are great, but they are
so unpredictable".
And finally, "My greatest
strength as a consultant is to be ignorant and ask a few
questions".

work that I do, please give me a call or visit my website. I
look forward to our conversation.
